Ninja's Forum

In my opinion, what we have at the moment is pretty solid in terms of design. I do wonder, however, if we can spice it up a little bit over time. Just to give our community a little something special to it. I personally am capable of doing some graphic design, so I could help out when the time comes. But I'd like to see how other people, including Seth.D and Ninjaboy, feel about this idea. I personally think it'd be fun. Plus, we could put the design choices up to a vote. Or make a contest out of it.

The contest idea sounds cool to me as well.

Well, two people think it seems like a cool idea so far. Seeing as there is a contest button thing up there (not really sure why), we could make a more practical use out of it by having a forum logo or GFX design contest of sorts. But that's just my opinion of which idea seems more convenient. Either way, it's nice to see the idea get such a positive response so far.

If you'd like to come up with a design feel free to do so, even if it's just a concept, and I can look into how feasible it would be to add it to the forum.

If anybody wants it, I can give them the entire imageset of the forum and he/she can play around with it. One of the main issues is that I've built this forum around this current style, which means that if certain elements were to be moved and changed, it might break some functionality. We can change the appearance, sure thing, but it would be a lot harder to change the actual layout of things.

Sorry for the late reply, but I felt that I could add: phpBB is actually really easy to skin for. I've only created a few custom themes in the past for an indie games company, but since 3.0 it's been a pleasure to work with. It's not my choice for forum software (bloated code, slowdowns, and security holes galore) but it's alright. I've been meaning to create a new version of the main website (my old one is, well, old) that integrates a forum natively so that the site and forum aren't just separate installs jointed together by a link like it is now. I've mostly got it finished. So, consider that before making any big graphics packs.

I'd prefer a skin that's easy on the eyes.
Less white or other bright colours. It would make the forum a lot easier to read.
I don't care much about the GFX.

i dunno, the skin is easy to read as it is now.

I honestly think that could be editted to look a lot better. Say, a custom made title The Real Ninja Boy like the one on his channel and website instead of ninjas forum. It would be cool to edit the background colors to something else since it really looks like the knuckles96.prophpbb.org forum. Anyways, I really like the idea.
