Oh, I didn't realize that music could just be added in so easily like that. I was under the impression that each ROM hack creator had to program it in themselves.

Most music are direct rips from an spc and though take a bit of effort to make into a txt file they are really just rips and most of the music I've heard before. That doesn't mean I don't appreciate it I just don't mention it. Though putting music into a hack is super easy you just grab a song you like and use AddmusicK to insert it.

Ah that's pretty interesting stuff! It seems then that it still takes a decent amount of effort to put a song into Super Mario World. Why then is it that nobody seems to care? I can't say I've ever once heard you say (or read a comment that said) "Wow, this music was really well made! Props to the ROM hack maker" or some such.

There's a couple tools that can convert wav to midi but you'd still need to go in and adjust the song itself to be able to be inserted into SMW correctly, there's also samples that you can insert which changed the instruments used to better recreate songs from other games.
I haven't played a hack with it but there's also MSU-1 that allows for full MP3 quality sound to be played but you have to use special emulators to be able to use it.

It seems a little odd that nobody (especially Ninja) ever compliments or even acknowledges the music used in ROM hacks, especially when I'm just sitting here amazed at how the ROM hack creator managed to so faithfully recreate classic tunes from other games in Super Mario World's sound engine.

I'm no expert on ROM hacks by any means and all I know about them is what I see from Ninja's videos, so could somebody clue me in on what I'm missing? Is there like an easy way to convert songs to Super Mario World? I imagine it would be like creating a midi, which isn't something you could just convert regular music into.

Hi i have been a big fan of ninja for a while and i was wondering if anyone remembers him playing the rom hack "super pika land ultra vanilla version"? it seems that it has been taken down because i searched for it on his channel and i browsed through every SINGLE playlist to try to find it. i commented on his video asking about it and he said he thought that he only played the chocolate version demo. anyway if anyone can help me find it i give a big thanks in advance. Thank you!

I can't say I saw this video funny at all which I know it's just a parody of the culture of Youtube gaming channels in general but pokes at the biggest of them but also stabs at the smallest, though all these videos breed are misinformed individuals, like Jimmy Kimmel (who I once had much more respect for then I do now). I'd have to put this along side retsupurae and their belittling of the gaming community especially the smaller channels.

Now I'm not going to defend any of the channels out there that just sit there and squeal or scream at everything but I guess I just have a huge biased on this subject due to IRL situations it has caused me when all people think I do is sit in front of a computer and just play games.

Thankfully I don't watch Let's Plays by those big screechy Youtubers but I still found this video hilarious anyway because my girlfriend watches those kinds of videos, so I know exactly what they're like.
